Galileo is a fast‑growing renewable energy developer, investor, and operator currently in the very dynamic start‑up phase. Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 16 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, offshore wind, and storage projects across 10 markets in Europe.
We are looking for a M&A Analyst to assist in evaluating and executing new development and investment opportunities across different renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind onshore and offshore, as well as BESS). This person will be based in Milan (with hybrid remote working possibilities) and report to the Chief Investment Officer.
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the successful execution of sell‑side, buy‑side and partnership transactions by working on the whole spectrum from inception to closing.
- Work closely with other departments to gain the necessary understanding of the business model of Galileo and support them with the perspective that comes from the Strategic Planning and M&A function.
- Support in the management of various European development partnerships and the various activities needed (onboarding of projects, preparation of business plans, etc.).
- Analyse and roll‑out the strategic entry in new geographical markets and the development of new business models (solar I&C, BESS, floating offshore).
Requirements:
- Excellent academic background with a degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Management Engineering (degrees in STEM are also suitable, if accompanied with background in economics or finance).
- Previous work experience within consulting, private equity, infrastructure funds, investment banking/M&A, or corporate M&A functions, with a desirable focus in the energy/renewables business.
- Depending on seniority, strong financial modelling experience and strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English. Another European language would be a plus.
- Enthusiasm and self‑motivation, including a willingness to take on new challenges and broad responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast‑paced environment and prove resilient in the face of challenges and disappointments.
