Lower Elementary Assistant Guide
to support a thriving classroom community and help students develop independence, curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. What You'll Do
Support the Lead Guide in implementing Montessori lessons and maintaining a prepared learning environment. Build positive, respectful relationships with students and guide them with patience, consistency, and encouragement. Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom that fosters independence and collaboration. Assist students as they work independently and in small groups while encouraging responsibility and problem-solving. Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support each student's academic, social, and emotional growth. Assist with classroom routines, materials preparation, record keeping, and daily operations. Supervise students during transitions, outdoor play, lunch, and other school activities as needed. Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities as requested. Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures. What We're Looking For
A genuine love for working with children in grades 1-3. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to create a nurturing, respectful, and engaging learning environment. Commitment to supporting each child's academic, social, and emotional development. Interest in Montessori philosophy and a child-centered approach to education. Flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to learn and grow as part of a collaborative team. Ability to meet the physical demands of working in an elementary classroom, including standing, walking, bending, lifting classroom materials, and actively engaging with students throughout the day.
