LOTO & Commissioning Supervisor

About the Project We are looking for an experienced LOTO & Commissioning Supervisor to join a wastewater treatment plant project in Vicenza, Italy.
The project consists of two phases. Phase 1 focuses primarily on the refurbishment and commissioning of the sludge treatment section of the plant, while Phase 2 is planned for the coming years.
This is a site-based role requiring a proactive professional capable of combining Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) coordination with hands‑on commissioning support.
Role Overview: Reporting to the Commissioning Manager and working alongside another Commissioning Supervisor, you will ensure the safe execution of commissioning activities by managing energy isolation procedures while actively supporting commissioning operations.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the preparation of commissioning procedures, test documentation, and site coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities LOTO Coordination
Develop, implement and manage Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures throughout commissioning.
Prepare and manage multi‑energy isolation plans, including:
Electrical systems
Hydraulic systems
Pneumatic systems
Chemical dosing systems
Verify mechanical isolations, valve lockouts, line blinding and chemical line purging.
Manage Master Lockbox systems during simultaneous commissioning activities.
Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and international best practices.
Commissioning Support
Support the Commissioning Manager during Phase 1 commissioning activities.
Participate in system walkdowns and pre‑commissioning inspections.
Review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, electrical single‑line diagrams and mechanical drawings.
Prepare commissioning procedures, test packs and inspection documentation.
Coordinate testing activities with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process teams.
Manage SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) ensuring safe coordination between contractors and disciplines.
Assist in troubleshooting during system testing and start‑up.
Candidate Profile Mandatory Requirements
Previous experience as LOTO Coordinator, LOTO Supervisor or similar role during commissioning projects.
Solid commissioning experience on industrial process plants (water/wastewater treatment, chemical, oil & gas, power or similar).
Excellent knowledge of:
Lock Out Tag Out procedures
P&IDs
Mechanical layouts
Electrical single‑line diagrams
Experience working in multidisciplinary commissioning environments.
Ability to prepare commissioning procedures and testing documentation.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Full‑time availability to work on site in Vicenza.
Language Requirements
Fluent Italian (mandatory) – daily communication with local teams.
Good English (spoken and written).
Certifications Candidates should ideally hold valid certifications such as:
LOTO Certification
Safety Training
PES / PAV / PEI (or equivalent electrical safety qualifications)
Other relevant HSE or commissioning certifications are considered an advantage.
