A high-profile family in Milan with six children seeks a highly skilled, flexible, and dedicated Live-in Butler to manage household operations and ensure the well‑being of the family. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a strong background in household management, driving, cooking, and childcare, with the ability to travel and maintain availability after hours.
Key Responsibilities
Household Management
- Oversee and coordinate household staff (housekeepers, gardeners, childcare providers), ensuring professionalism and adherence to family standards.
- Manage household budgets, expenses, vendor relations, and payments.
- Maintain household organisation, cleanliness, and efficiency at all times.
Driving
- Provide safe, reliable transportation for family members.
- Maintain all vehicles, ensuring they are clean, fuelled, and in top condition.
Cooking & Service
- Prepare and serve nutritious, family‑style breakfasts and dinners for eight, accommodating dietary preferences.
- Plan weekly menus, source quality ingredients, and uphold high kitchen hygiene standards.
- Perform formal service duties, including table setting and food presentation.
Proxy Parenting & Child Supervision
- Supervise and care for children when parents are away, ensuring routines and schedules are followed.
- Oversee daily activities such as hygiene, tutoring, meals, and bedtime (8:00pm).
- Provide consistent, caring, and structured guidance aligned with parental expectations.
Travel & Logistics
- Accompany the family on domestic and international trips, managing logistics, packing, and transportation.
- Ensure smooth transitions between residences and travel destinations.
Availability & Flexibility
- Remain available after hours for emergencies or additional duties.
- Adapt to the family’s evolving needs and schedule with discretion and reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Butler, Household Manager, or in a similar private household role (experience with large families preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record and confidence driving in Milan and abroad.
- Strong culinary skills with experience preparing family meals and accommodating dietary needs.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with childcare and maintaining structured routines.
- Fluent in English and Italian preferred (additional languages a plus).
- Professional, discreet, and trustworthy, with outstanding references.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
