Please note: This role requires a valid Attorney at Law license and authorization to practise law by the Regulation Authority in Italy.
Interested candidates should attach a simple Word file describing experience in airline passenger claims under EU261 / 2004 or baggage claims under the Montreal Convention, in English.
Role
Litigation Lawyer specializing in consumer flight claims (typically via small claims procedure) to lead in-court collections. Role may involve owning or helping to open a boutique law firm in Italy. Pre-court collections are managed by a team of paralegals. You will file batches of court cases to recover compensation, reimbursement of Out-of-Pocket Expenses (OPE), and/or ticket refunds.
AirAdvisor currently handles three types of airline claims:
- EU261 compensation for flight delays, cancellations, and denied boarding
- Montreal Convention claims: lost, delayed, and/or destroyed luggage
If a court decision is unjust, the candidate may pursue appeals or, where feasible, advocate for legislative changes. There may be PR opportunities related to court victories and key legal issues.
This is an excellent opportunity for high performers who can self-perform, have strong litigation experience, and are passionate about advocating consumer rights in the airline industry.
The candidate must be free from conflicts of interest and be free to litigate against different airlines.
