The person will join the Bocconi Library & Archives Unit, that supports the educational and research mission of the University with up-to-date multidisciplinary collections, quality services as well as one-to-one assistance in selecting appropriate information and documents. The value and completeness of its collections make the Library a landmark institution for the economic academic community in Italy. In particular, the person will join the Library team to:

ensure active contribution in providing effective and efficient reception, orientation, information and reference, circulation services to all library users by means of different modes and channels of communication collaborate proactively to achieve the Library strategic goals, according to current Library projects and plans.

Main activities will include:

Staffing the Library Information Desk as required; Supporting users across multiple communication touchpoints; Providing bibliographic assistance and research support to library patrons (including students, faculty, staff, and community members), in person, online and by appointment; Promoting Library services and collections, with special focus on electronic resources (ejournals, ebooks, databases); Encouraging the effective use of different search tools (e.g. discovery tool, libguides, catalogs, databases, etc.); Identifying and interpreting user needs when looking for information and data, including financial and statistical data; Assisting the Library team with back-office activities (e.g. user accounts management, study seat/workstation bookings, monitoring activities with users, reading lists management); Participating in information literacy instruction sessions to users in person, online, to individuals, or to groups in a classroom.

We look for:

Graduated with a master’s degree in library and information sciences, or related subjects. Fluent in English and Italian. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Digital approach. Curious to know how a higher education institution’s Library operates. Soft skills: positive and enthusiastic with very good interpersonal and team working skills; analytical and critical thinking; excellent communication and problem-solving skills; hands‑on approach; customer oriented; able to organize and manage the work timely and autonomously; self‑starter with strong attention to detail. Previous work experience with library activities is considered a plus.
