Job Description: Legal Counsel – Dirigenti
Overview
Our client, a leading player in the digital infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel (Dirigenti) to join their legal and compliance function. This role will provide strategic advice on corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters, ensuring the business continues to grow in a compliant, scalable, and secure manner. The position requires strong expertise in managing complex contracts, cross-border legal issues, and working closely with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate and Commercial Law
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including customer agreements, supplier agreements, and joint ventures.
- Provide expert advice on contracts with landlords and property-related agreements.
- Support on financing, M&A, and due diligence processes, working closely with finance teams.
Regulatory and Compliance
- Monitor EU and local regulatory frameworks, including data protection, energy, competition, and infrastructure-related laws.
- Implement compliance programs and internal policies, ensuring adherence to international standards.
- Partner with external law firms and advisors to guarantee local compliance in all operating jurisdictions.
Risk and Dispute Management
- Identify and mitigate legal risks, providing practical and business-focused solutions.
- Manage disputes, litigation, and arbitration alongside external counsel.
- Support company initiatives in ESG, sustainability, and risk governance.
Strategic and Operational Advisory
- Advise the leadership team on strategic projects, international expansion, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee legal due diligence in relation to property, construction, and engineering projects tied to data center development.
- Contribute to scalable legal processes that support business growth and long-term resilience.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in Italy (Avvocato) with Dirigenti-level seniority ; additional European qualifications a plus.
- 8–10+ years’ post-qualification experience in top-tier law firms and/or multinational corporations.
- International experience is strongly preferred, with exposure to locations where data centers or related infrastructure projects are developed.
- Sector knowledge in telecommunications, oil & gas, construction engineering, or real estate is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting contracts with clients and landlords , conducting due diligence , and collaborating effectively with finance teams.
- Proven track record of working with external law firms and advisors to ensure compliance in local markets.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluency in Italian is required. Additional European languages are an asset.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly at C-suite and board level.
