And this is where you come in...
- Lead processes for filing investment firm licenses and maintaining compliance under MiFID II and other relevant laws;
- Contribute to obtaining authorization as a cryptoasset service provider under MiCA regulation;
- Draft reports, policies, and procedures in accordance with MiFID II, AIFMD, and other applicable laws;
- Advise on regulatory strategy, securing and maintaining licenses, and ensuring compliance across the organization;
- Monitor global cryptoasset regulation and sectorial news;
- Navigate complex regulatory frameworks and advise on designing innovative financial products and services;
- Research legal and regulatory questions, providing analyses and recommendations for business decisions;
- Assist in reviewing external communications via social media and marketing campaigns;
- Support the legal team and other departments with regulatory and compliance matters;
- Stay updated on internal standards and business objectives.
What you might bring
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a legal counsel;
- Master of Laws (LL.M. or equivalent);
- Strong knowledge of EU financial laws (MiFID II, EMIR, AIFMD, PRIIPs);
- Experience in licensing processes under these frameworks;
- An interest in blockchain and cryptoassets, with curiosity about technical aspects;
- Familiarity with industry practices and standards;
- Business acumen and a solution-oriented mindset;
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; German is a plus;
- Ability to translate legal and regulatory concepts into practical business requirements;
- Autonomous, creative, and adaptable thinking;
- Experience in FinTech, financial institutions, investment firms, or funds is preferred.
