The position, reporting to Company Management, will be responsible for coordinating the production activities of the mechanical/electrical assembly departments and mechanical machining (metal parts milling). They will ensure compliance with deadlines, costs, and the quality standards required in the medical device sector, while implementing Lean Manufacturing methodologies to optimize processes. Additionally, they will support the Purchasing and Supply Chain functions, contributing to demand planning, supplier management, and the optimization of material and component flows.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the activities of the assembly and milling departments.
  • Ensure adherence to the production plan in terms of timelines, costs, and quality standards.
  • Implement Lean tools and methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, VSM, etc.) to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop department teams (shift leaders, specialized operators, and staff).
  • Monitor production KPIs (OEE, cycle times, scrap rates, downtime) and provide reports to Management.
  • Collaborate with Technical and Quality departments to improve production processes and introduce new products.
  • Ensure proper application of company procedures and industry regulations (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, workplace safety).
  • Contribute to defining investments in machinery, equipment, and production layouts.
  • Support the Purchasing function in supplier evaluation, technical specification definition, and supply issue management.
  • Work with the Supply Chain to plan production, control inventory, and optimize internal logistics flows.

Skills and experience required

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Management, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related) or proven equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production management roles within industrial environments (preferably biomedical, aerospace, or precision mechanics).
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical assembly technologies and CNC machining (particularly milling).
  • Solid expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience in collaborating with Purchasing and Supply Chain functions.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with IT tools for production planning and monitoring (ERP/MES, MRP).
  • Knowledge of quality standards in the medical sector (ISO 13485) and safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt).
  • Experience in ISO 13485-certified companies.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

The contract and salary terms will be determined based on the skills, competences and experience of the candidate.
