Structural Lead Engineer – Offshore FPSO Modules (Milan, Italy)
Location: Milan (primary)
Engagement: Full-time contract (minimum 10 months, potential 2+ years)
Start: Immediate / short notice preferred (4 weeks or less)
The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Structural Lead Engineer to join the team in Milan and provide critical support to an ongoing FPSO topside module project. The role will focus on detailed engineering and fabrication follow-up of multi-thousand-tonne offshore modules.
This is an opportunity to step into a leadership position on a significant offshore project, with potential continuation on similar projects and further assignments across the global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering activities for FPSO topside modules.
- Supervise and guide engineering contractors, ensuring delivery quality and alignment with project requirements.
- Provide hands-on expertise in offshore structures and fabrication processes.
- Support detailed design and resolve technical issues with fabricators.
- Act as a key discipline authority during detailed engineering and module fabrication.
- Collaborate with global teams
Requirements
- Proven experience in structural engineering for offshore facilities (FPSO, floating platforms preferred).
- Strong fabrication and construction follow-up experience – must have seen projects through to outcome.
- Previous lead or senior engineering role on at least one major offshore project.
- Ability to identify discipline roadblocks and expedite engineering work.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a matrix organization.
- Fluency in English required; Italian an advantage.
- Availability to mobilize quickly (ideally within 4 weeks).
Engagement Terms
- Initial assignment: 10 months minimum , aligned with fabrication follow-up. Possible be extension for 2+ years after that
- Based in Milan, Italy
