We are currently searching for a Lead Project Controls Engineer to work in a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.
The Lead Project Controls Engineer will be initially based in Milan, Italy for up to 6 months before transferring to Maputo, Mozambique on an Expat residential basis.
Activities
Responsibilities include coordination of Project Control activities such as:
- Controlling project budgets, schedules, risk, and Change Management, and keeping the project management team informed of key project metrics.
- Supporting the Project Controls Team with processes, procedures, and deliverables related to schedule, cost, risk, and change control.
- Maintaining effective project controls including cost, budget, schedule, and progress tracking.
- Managing risk processes for effective project risk management.
- Maintaining reporting standards for all onshore reporting requirements.
- Monitoring schedule interfaces between contractors and resolving conflicts.
- Preparing and communicating cost reports clearly to the project team.
- Tracking contingency, management reserve, and approved changes to the project budget.
- Coordinating between Project Controls and C&P functions.
- Acting as Deputy for the Onshore Project Services Manager when required.
- Providing Project Management support to the General Manager for specific issues.
- Promoting a culture of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) awareness within the project.
Qualifications and Experiences :
- Education: Masters or Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years in major oil and gas project control.
- Experience with oil and gas project developments, including Partner and Government reporting interfaces.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to deadlines.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with cost engineering, scheduling, and planning principles and methods.
Job Dimensions :
- Mozambique LNG is a strategic project with a cost of $18 billion.
- Includes onshore facilities like a 13 MTPA LNG plant, Marine Facilities, Utilities, and Infrastructure.
- Managing a budget of approx. $10 billion with a schedule of around 48 months to start-up.
- Supporting all onshore Project Control activities and supervising a team across multiple locations.
Context and Environment :
- Project involves a multinational joint venture with significant social and stakeholder management components, financed by high-profile lenders.
- Regular site visits to the remote Afungi Site in Northern Mozambique are required.
