We are currently seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our team in Venice, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in a manufacturing plant.

Position: Lead Maintenance Technician

Location: Venice, Florida

Hourly Rate: $38-42 per hour, plus $1.25 per hour for Saturday/Duty Shift (based on experience from technical interview)

Experience: 5+ years leading maintenance in a manufacturing setting

Shift: Weekend Nights – 5 pm to 5 am Friday, Saturday, Sunday (paid for 40 hours)

Relocation Bonus: $5,000; Sign‑On Bonus: $2,500.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all work in a safe manner following company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and repair equipment in assigned area under guidance of higher‑level utility mechanics.
  • Maintain open and accurate communication with other maintenance employees and supervisor.
  • Complete all assigned work orders completely and accurately, documenting all relevant information.
  • Complete Maintenance, Repair, and Operations documentation and Proteus entry as required.
  • Perform technical maintenance tasks under close supervision.
  • Provide all information necessary to maintain proper parts inventories.
  • Work with outside contractors to complete projects and improvements whenever possible.
  • Maintain all facility grounds and services.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Technical or trade‑school degree, or a combination of high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of industrial electricity.
  • Knowledge of energy sources for utility equipment (electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.); PLC experience a plus.
  • Ability to maintain plant utilities (lighting, water systems, drain systems, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently when directed.
  • Basic understanding of schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of diagnostic equipment (ohm meters, voltage meters, etc.) and power equipment (cut‑off saws, demo‑saws, drills).
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and company regulations (Lockout‑Tagout, PPE, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations, and Proteus procedures and requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
