Role Overview – Accounting Lead
The position is responsible for managing end‑to‑end accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision‑making. The role suits a professional with solid accounting expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
· Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses across key balance sheet and P&L accounts.
· Oversee AP/AR cycles, fixed assets, accruals, and revenue recognition in line with applicable accounting standards.
· Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
· Support external audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and preparing required documentation.
· Maintain and improve internal controls, identifying process gaps and implementing corrective actions.
· Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
· Assist in cash flow monitoring, treasury activities, and bank reconciliations.
· Drive process automation and system improvements (ERP, reporting tools, workflow tools).
· Provide accounting support for special projects, such as new product launches, system migrations, or regulatory changes.
· Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a high‑performing finance function.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is a strong plus.
· 7–8 years of progressive experience in accounting, ideally in a fast‑paced or international environment.
· Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls.
· Proficiency with Xero and Stripe, Paysafe systems and advanced Excel skills.
· Experience managing month‑end close and preparing full financial statements.
· Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly.
· Strong organizational skills, being able to meet timelines diligently, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Be a self-starter, comfortable working independently and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
