Orion Group have a unique opportunity for a Laboratory Superintendent to join a high profile Oil & Gas project for a major player in the energy industry.
Position - Laboratory Superintendent - LNG Production
Company - Global Energy Company
Location - Milan
Duration - 12 month renewable contract
Summary
Lead and manage LNG Laboratory activities within the LNG Plant, ensuring compliance with the applicable Company management system, regulations and standards, developing and assessing the Laboratory team personnel, in order to contribute to the optimization of Production processes and produce on specification LNG in a safe and timely manner to meet company targets and shipping schedules.
Key responsibilities
- Control and monitor laboratory practices to ensure that the implementation is in accordance to the determined standards, policies, objectives, budgets, and schedules.
- Ensure availability of laboratory equipment, chemicals…for smooth functioning.
- Provide laboratory activities guidance that matches company objectives.
- Develop and update laboratory operating and analytical procedures.
- Review Laboratory design to ensure safe and accurate analysis.
- Review plant sample points design to ensure safe and representative sampling.
- Approve certificates of quality for the LNG shipments.
- Monitor the cargoes LNG quality and highlight deviations to Commercial & Shipping.
- Assist the Production team for stable plant operation, support process, Quality/Environment/Corrosion monitoring, troubleshooting, studies, simulations, investigations and advice for improvement.
- Ensure compliance to ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality System and ISO 14001 Environment Management System requirements and other management initiatives with aim to improve continually.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of the test methods and equipment’s used in an LNG plant laboratory.
- Excellent knowledge of ISO 17025 system & applications.
- Excellent LNG process knowledge and analytical skills to guide and advice production team.
- Bachelor degree in Chemistry Engineering
- Minimum 10 years in Senior Laboratory Positions
- Minimum 5 years in Laboratory of LNG production plants or LNG terminals
