Job purpose

The US Key Account Manager serves as the strategic leader responsible for the management, retention, and expansion of the assigned client portfolio. The role ensures full alignment between commercial objectives, operational capabilities, and overall company strategy, driving sustainable growth and long-term partnerships within the US market.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management & Business Development

  • Lead and execute Business Development initiatives with a growth-oriented and forward-thinking approach.
  • Identify new market opportunities and strengthen long-term partnerships with key accounts.
  • Ensure alignment between client expectations and corporate objectives.

Client Relationship Management

  • Oversee customer relationships and communications in close cooperation with the US Sales Area Manager.
  • Provide technical and operational guidance to support contract execution and business expansion.
  • Structure and clarify customer requirements and timelines, anticipating risks and potential obstacles.
  • Monitor portfolio performance to ensure compliance with plans, processes, and financial targets.
  • Identify cost optimization and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Address potential cost increases in collaboration with Operations, Industrialization, and Procurement.
  • Track key performance indicators including product costs, cash flow, gross margin, and portfolio quality performance in partnership with Controlling, Finance, and QA/QC.

Demand Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Manage demand forecasting to ensure integration between commercial strategy and production planning.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities among R&D, Engineering, Production, QA/RA, Procurement, and Controlling to guarantee consistency, quality standards, and timely execution.

Proposal Management (CMD Projects)

  • Support the preparation and finalization of proposals for Contract Manufacturing Department (CMD) projects in partnership with the Proposal Driver.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, assumptions analysis, and the definition of scenarios and action plans during the bidding phase.
  • Review technical documentation related to RFPs, identifying critical aspects and ensuring appropriate prioritization with the Business Development Manager and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor proposal status (won, lost, pending) and identify improvement areas.
  • Ensure accurate and timely CRM updates for full transparency and traceability.

Project & Stakeholder Support

  • Maintain continuous oversight of ongoing projects, supporting assigned Project Managers.
  • Plan and coordinate client visits and business meetings.
