The Key Account Manager Amazon is responsible for driving the commercial performance, profitability, and growth of the Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) business. The role manages the end-to-end Amazon relationship, including commercial negotiations, joint business planning, media investments, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve sales, margin, and brand objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Key Account on the brand side or Amazon side, including equivalent roles such as Amazon Vendor Manager or Brand Specialist, within the Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) business model.
- Experience managing Amazon Media (Amazon Search and Amazon DSP), either directly or via agency, with full budget responsibility.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills, including deal negotiation for key promotional events (e.g., Black Friday, Prime Day).
- Active participation in Joint Business Planning (JBP) and Amazon AVN (Annual Vendor Negotiation).
- Experience managing media agencies for Amazon media investments.
Key Responsibilities / Day-to-Day Activities
- Formulate the annual Amazon business plan, implement agreed strategies, and monitor sales performance and KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Manage the Amazon account on a day-to-day basis, coordinating internal and external resources to ensure all budgeted targets and performance metrics are met or exceeded.
- Plan and invest Amazon media budgets (Amazon Search Paid and DSP) to maximize key KPIs, including ROAS (Return on Advertising Spend), CLTV (Customer Lifetime Value), and NTB% (New-to-Brand customer acquisition).
- Provide timely, accurate, and insightful reporting on performance, media spend, and financials.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives such as promotions, Direct Import Programs, and other commercial levers, translating them into clear action plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Amazon Retail teams.
- Manage all account financials with full accountability, including SOA, promotional funding, margins, co-op rebates, and trade terms.
- Provide detailed and accurate inventory forecasts for both new product launches and existing assortments.
- Leverage data, information systems, and metrics related to financial performance, brand health, and shopper behavior to maximize market share, sales, and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and eCommerce team members on other eTailer accounts as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or equivalent
- 2–3 years of experience managing Amazon Retail, either as a 1P Vendor or 3P Seller on the Amazon marketplace.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
