Driven by continuous growth, our manufacturing location in Bressana, Bottarone (PV), is searching for a Mechatronic / Automation Engineer to be part of the Research and Development team.


The Mechatronic / Automation Engineer (Fire Protection Systems – Electrical & Electromechanical Components) is responsible for the design, development, prototyping and validation of electromechanical equipment used in foam extinguishing systems, including electrically driven and electronically / software controlled components and devices.


This role requires a technically skilled and innovative engineer with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, control interfaces, embedded software and system integration between mechanical electrical, electronics and software design. Experience in the fire protection industry, particularly with foam technology, is a strong advantage.


The Mechatronic / Automation Engineer develops and optimizes components and assemblies using modern CAD , simulation tools and programming languages, ensuring integration between mechanical and electrical systems. The role will involve creating 3D models, electrical schematic, software writing, PLC programming and documentation to support both internal product development and external manufacturing partners.


The Mechatronic / Automation Engineer works closely with project management, electronic and software specialists, production, product management, and testing teams to ensure that designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements for both mechanical and electrical components.


A structured and analytical approach, combined with attention to details and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, is essential for success in this role.


Main responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, prototype, validate electromechanical equipment and systems for fire protection systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, wiring harnesses, PLC and other control units, and software
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems, ensuring reliable interaction between power, motion control, kinematic and hydraulic functions
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, electrical schematics, software programming and documentation supporting manufacturing and certification processes
  • Propose own mechanical solutions and collaborate with other mechanical engineers to define electrical interfaces, control logics, and performance parameters for foam proportioning and robotics systems used in remote controlled monitors
  • Support prototype assembly, testing, and validation, analyse test results, and implement design improvements in both mechanical and electrical/ electronic domains
  • Ensure compliance with relevant fire protection regulations, standards, and internal quality requirements throughout the design and development process


Qualifications and experience:


  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Automation Engineering or in a closely related technical field
  • 3 years+ of experience in mechatronic design in R&D environment with strong applications in electrical and electronic and development, automation. Experience in fire protection applications is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in electrical and electronic design software and advanced understanding of wiring diagrams and norms
  • Proven experience on motor control, sensors, and power electronics, including control interface design and integration with PLC or embedded systems
  • Experience with testing and validation of electrical systems, including performance, EMC, and environmental testing
  • PLC programming , testing or amendment in factory or at the commissioning stage
  • Knowledge of programming is a plus
  • Experience in the ATEX field is a plus
  • Collaborative and structured working style, with good communication skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English
