We are looking for a Junior Software & SCADA Developer
We are looking for a Junior Software & SCADA Developer to join our Software Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Software & SCADA Development. This is an entry‑level opportunity ideal for recent graduates or technical diploma holders who want to start their career in industrial automation and energy systems.
In this role, you will support the development and integration of control software, HMI and SCADA solutions for advanced energy storage systems, working closely with engineering and project teams across the full project lifecycle—from development and testing to commissioning activities on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of control software for NHOA systems in line with specifications defined by the Control Engineering team
- Develop HMI and SCADA applications according to project requirements and company standards
- Assist in configuring and integrating control hardware, ensuring proper communication between PLCs, SCADA platforms and industrial devices
- Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to ensure secure configuration of OT devices and communication within the system architecture
- Participate in testing activities at factory or supplier facilities, documenting results and troubleshooting issues
- Support cold and hot commissioning activities on site to ensure proper system integration and functionality
- Maintain accurate documentation of software configurations and system architecture
- Provide second‑level support to service teams for troubleshooting and issue resolution on commissioned systems
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and site safety requirements
Requirements
- We are looking for a recent graduate or technical diploma holder with up to 2 years of experience in software development, automation or similar fields
- High‑school technical diploma (Electrical, Electronic, Automation or similar) or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
- Basic knowledge of PLC development tools (e.g. TIA Portal)
- Familiarity with HMI and SCADA development tools such as WinCC or similar platforms
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols and networking principles
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts in OT environments
- Ability to read and understand control system documentation (electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, software specifications)
- Good command of English and Italian, both written and spoken
- Availability to travel internationally for commissioning activities and site assignments
- Willingness to learn and collaborate within multidisciplinary engineering teams
