Overall Purpose of Job
To support Relationship Managers (RMs) and the Department Head in managing the business activities of JCBD Dept. (Milano), with a focus on assisting client coverage, credit‑related tasks, and business development initiatives. To contribute proactively to new customer acquisition by conducting market research, identifying potential prospects, and taking an active role in the initial client outreach.
Essential Functions
Business Support / Client Coverage:
- Support senior RMs in maintaining and developing long‑term relationships with existing customers by preparing meeting materials, gathering client information, and assisting follow‑up activities.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and potential new clients, contributing to the team’s new customer acquisition strategy.
- Take an active role in the initial approach to prospective customers, including preparing proposals, coordinating internal discussions, and joining introductory meetings when appropriate.
- Assist in sharing client information and business opportunities with primary office (Japan/Europe) and relevant HQ divisions.
- Work collaboratively with MUFG colleagues across different functions to support seamless client service.
- Participate in “Deep Dive” initiatives by collecting data, preparing documentation, and supporting the team leader.
Credit Analysis / Operation / Compliance:
- Support RMs in basic credit analysis, including financial information collection, data input, and drafting initial assessment notes under supervision.
- Gain a solid understanding of MUFG’s Credit Policy and operational processes to effectively support daily tasks.
- Ensure that assigned activities comply with relevant internal rules, regulatory requirements, and procedures.
- Assist in operational tasks such as KYC updates, documentation handling, and internal system entries.
Work Experience
Preferably 1–3 years of experience in the banking or financial services sector.
Skills And Experience
- Basic understanding of banking products, financial statements, and regulatory concepts, with a willingness to learn and develop further.
- Strong interest in corporate banking and client relationship management.
- Good understanding of Japanese corporate culture and the Japanese business environment (or willingness to acquire such knowledge).
- Fluency in Italian and English (speaking/reading/writing) is required.
- Japanese language skills are highly desirable, as the role requires frequent communication with colleagues in Japan and interaction with HQ documents.
