We are looking for a Junior Procurement Specialist in Milan.
Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Junior Procurement Specialist to support procurement activities across renewable energy projects, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and wind projects.
Reporting to the EPC Procurement Manager, this role contributes to sourcing processes, tendering activities, contract negotiations, and contract administration, ensuring competitive total cost of ownership, compliance, and operational efficiency in line with global procurement standards.
The Procurement Department is responsible for procurement governance, systems, processes, and sustainable supply chain practices, as well as supporting large‑scale CAPEX projects and OPEX category management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement activities for solar, battery storage, and/or wind projects, under the guidance of senior procurement professionals.
- Assist in implementing project‑specific Procurement Strategies aligned with global category strategies and framework agreements.
- Coordinate with Global Category Managers to execute existing global agreements and support local adaptation where required.
- Contribute to tendering processes, including preparation of RFQs/RFPs, supplier market analysis, bid evaluation and commercial comparison, supplier prequalification.
- Support negotiations of commercial terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with project financial models and risk allocation principles.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Business Development, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance) during tendering and contracting phases.
- Assist in contractor and supplier relationship management, particularly EPC, BOP, and HV contractors.
- Contribute to CAPEX and OPEX cost estimations to support Development and M&A activities.
- Support contract administration activities, including purchase order issuance, contract documentation management, monitoring deliverables and milestones.
- Managing claims and non‑conformities in coordination with Project Managers.
- Ensure procurement processes are compliant with internal governance, sustainability standards, and ethical sourcing requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
Your profile is a natural match if you have:
- 2–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract administration (preferably within renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects).
- Exposure to CAPEX procurement environments is highly valued.
- Basic understanding of EPC contracting models and project‑based procurement.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate commercial proposals.
- Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP tools.
- An excellent communicator with fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are an advantage such as Spanish or Italian.
- High attention to detail, structured working style, and strong stakeholder coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel.
