Junior Process Engineer

Exide is looking for a Junior Process Engineer for its Italian plant. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the candidate will support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards.
The Junior Process Engineer will assist in evaluating and optimizing existing processes and will gradually be involved in the introduction of new manufacturing technologies, contributing to cost optimisation, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
He/she will work closely with cross‑functional teams, gaining hands‑on experience in the production environment and supporting process quality activities.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and improvement of manufacturing processes;
- Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and production methods;
- Monitoring process modifications and upgrades;
- Supporting troubleshooting activities on existing processes;
- Collaborating in the definition of work instructions, process parameters, and quality checkpoints;
- Helping ensure that equipment and materials operate according to specifications;
- Supporting prototype development and new product/process introduction;
- Assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to production processes;
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to resolve process and production issues;
- Ensuring compliance with Environment, Health Safety (EHS) standards;
- This is a hands‑on role, with significant exposure to the shop floor.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Electronic, or Materials Engineering);
- Up to 1–2 years of experience (or internship) in process/manufacturing engineering;
- Fluency in Italian and English (minimum B2);
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and willingness to learn new tools;
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial environments;
- Strong teamwork, proactivity, and willingness to learn;
- Adaptability and interest in working in a production environment;
