Junior Oracle DBA and PL/SQL Developer

Akronos Technologies, a leading Italian company in hi-tech engineering innovation and services, is looking for a Junior Oracle DBA

We are looking for a Junior Oracle DBA and PL/SQL Developer, as contractor, to support PL/SQL developments and DBA activities within the MTS Application Management ＆ Data team.

Hands-on experience and a strong interest in financial markets, preferably in the BOND and SWAP domain. The ideal candidate will support database administration and development activities, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance within a dynamic environment.

The expected services include:

• Design, development, testing, and maintenance of software components for data workflows.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, and scripts on Oracle databases (19c and later).
• Optimize queries and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Collaborate with application teams (including IT, Business, and Operations) to ensure smooth integration and data consistency.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams including IT, Business, and Operations.
• Support deployment activities, including Oracle Cloud environments.

The services require specific technical expertise and continuous availability, which cannot be fulfilled by internal resources due to existing commitments and bandwidth limitations.

Experience

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in software development, specifically within a database environment
• Good background in relational database management, especially Oracle PL/SQL.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and debugging complex software issues.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams including IT, Business, and Operations.

Education and Knowledge

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
• Solid knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL development.
• Basic DBA skills (user management, performance tuning, backup/recovery).
• Experience with Linux RHEL 8+ and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud services.
• Familiarity with Oracle Data Integrator.
• Languages: Intermediate level of English (written and spoken).
• Experience: 1–3 years in similar roles (junior but with practical experience).
• Domain Knowledge: Exposure to financial markets, preferably BOND and SWAP context.
