Carlo Gavazzi Impianti, part of the Bonatti Group, is an EPC contractor specialized in the construction of primary substations, high-voltage electrical substations, as well as in the engineering and construction of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and photovoltaic plants. We collaborate with leading players in the energy sector, delivering complex and strategic projects for national and international power networks.


We are currently looking for a Junior Commissioning Engineer who, after an initial training period, will support the Commissioning Manager in the commissioning activities of electrical systems (mainly HV/MV substations and electrical stations). The role will involve both office-based preparation and on-site activities.


Key Responsibilities

After a training period, the candidate will:

  • Support testing and commissioning of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, protection relays and switchboards
  • Assist in verification and setting of protection and control systems
  • Perform functional tests on electrical systems, including off-load testing
  • Support coordination of on-site commissioning activities with suppliers, subcontractors and clients
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation (test reports, checklists, commissioning reports)
  • Assist during plant start-up and handover activities
  • Collaborate with senior engineers during commissioning planning and execution


Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Diploma in Electrical/Electrotechnical field
  • Recent graduate or up to 2–3 years of experience in commissioning or electrical site activities
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and single-line diagrams
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and measurement instruments (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.) is a plus
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Italian language proficiency is mandatory
  • Willingness to travel frequently and stay on site (short to medium-term assignments)
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn and work in a dynamic environment
  • Good teamwork and communication skills


Place of Work: Assago (Milan), Italy, with frequent travel to project sites across Italy.
