Job Summary
The Junior Business Operations Manager will be trained and develoed to own and optimize the operational backbone of The Simple Folk, ensuring smooth operations across logistics, systems, inventory, and production. Based at the IO FTH HQ in Rome, Italy, this role is critical to supporting our global DTC and wholesale business by driving operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional alignment.
This individual will serve as the primary operational partner across third-party logistics, internal systems (Shopify, WMS, NetSuite), and supply chain stakeholders, using data to inform decisions.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-growing, mission-driven brand that balances hands-on execution with strategic thinking to support sustainable growth and an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics & Fulfillment
· Manage day-to-day logistics and fulfillment operations across all sales channels
· Manage the relationship with the company’s primary 3PL partner
· Oversee inbound freight coordination (air and ocean)
· Ensure timely replenishment, delivery, and fulfillment of products
· Review and approve 3PL invoices by validating fulfillment volumes, returns, storage, and accessorial charges
· Troubleshoot fulfillment issues, including delayed shipments, lost packages, and carrier exceptions
· Support international shipping strategy, courier selection, and customer experience optimization
Systems & Operations
· Act as primary operational owner for Shopify, WMS, ERP (NetSuite), and internal operational tools
· Oversee system integrations and maintain data integrity across SKUs, inventory, POs, receipts, and reconciliations
· Lead operational aspects of system implementations and system-related improvements
Inventory Management & Planning
· Own inventory accuracy and visibility across DTC, wholesale, and international channels
· Analyze sell-through, on-hand, and incoming inventory to identify risks
· Maintain inventory planning and reporting to monitor aging, sell-through, and on-hand vs. incoming inventory
· Provide buy quantity recommendations for replenishments and new collections, aligned with seasonality, MOQs, and cash flow
· Support accurate cost tracking, landed cost inputs, and invoice approvals in partnership with Finance
· Communicate inventory risks and recommendations clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams
Production Coordination
· Coordinate with Production and suppliers to support production timelines and operational readiness
· Track production schedules against delivery windows to support launches and replenishments
· Align inventory needs with manufacturing schedules and logistics constraints
Cross-Functional Partnership & Sustainability
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Experience
· Support sustainable operational practices aligned with company values
· Communicate operational dependencies, risks, and impacts proactively
General:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Passionate for operations, supply chain, or business operations, ideally with 1-3 years of experience
- Strong operational and financial acumen, with experience in inventory planning, cost tracking, and operational reporting
- Full professional proficiency in English (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate clearly across global teams and external partners
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communicator with the ability to translate operational data into clear insights and recommendations
- Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally across Production, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Experience
- Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach and strong ownership mentality
Technical & Systems
- Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis)
- Experience working with Shopify and e-commerce operations tools
- Hands-on experience with ERP and WMS systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing and validating 3PL data, invoices, and operational reporting
- Comfort working with system integrations, data integrity, and SKU-level inventory management
- Familiarity with international shipping, freight coordination, and landed cost calculations is a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience in apparel, fashion, or consumer goods
- Exposure to wholesale and international sales channels
