Were opening a new kind of role at Whatwapp : a Junior AI Tooling Developer focused on building smart internal tools that make our teams faster sharper and more creative.

Youll work across multiple departments (Marketing Product Live Ops BI QA) creating AI-powered utilities agents dashboards workflow helpers and small internal apps through vibe coding and rapid prototyping.

Think of it as being the studios AI handyman : you see a manual process ->

you build a lightweight tool ->

you iterate until it becomes indispensable.

If you love tinkering learning new AI technologies and turning rough ideas into working solutions this is your playground.

Its not a traditional engineering position : its a hybrid between developer AI explorer and internal innovator.

Youll gain exposure to many areas of the company rather than being siloed in one team.

Your work has an immediate impact : small tools that make peoples daily life easier.

Youll grow fast; the AI landscape changes weekly and youll be in the middle of it.

Your quests will be

• Build internal tools using AI-assisted coding (vibe coding) prompt engineering and quick scripting.
• Prototype AI agents for different team needs (e.g. marketing automations data helpers QA bots content generators).
• Test and evaluate these prototypes; evolve the ones that deliver real value.
• Explore emerging AI technologies (models APIs agent frameworks automation tools) and bring promising ones into the studio.
• Support non-technical colleagues in adopting and using AI tools effectively.
• Document your work clearly so teams can use and maintain the tools.
• Collaborate with multiple departments understand their workflows and propose AI solutions proactively.
• Act as an internal AI ambassador sharing best practices and onboarding teammates.

The type of player you are

• A curious builder with a strong DIY mindset; you enjoy solving problems with small clever tools.
• Comfortable experimenting : you try something test it and improve it fast.
• Some experience with basic scripting (Python JavaScript or similar); AI will help you do the heavy lifting.
• Interest in LLMs agents automation and rapid prototyping.
• Strong communication skills; youre able to talk to non-technical people and translate needs into simple solutions.
• Autonomous but collaborative - you like working with different teams and learning from them.
• Bonus if youre already playing with AI APIs automation platforms or building mini-apps for fun.

Building community and having a place to connect with each other is very important for us. We like not only to work together but to have time to get to know each other to celebrate and have fun. We also value peoples choice to work from anywhere thats why we have a very flexible hybrid model.

Our policy is 4 days per month at the office and we decide however were gonna go. There are people who like to go once every week or two days every two weeks four days straight or even combining the last 4 days of one month with the first 4 days of the next month and only go 8 days straight every two months. Whatever works best for you!

If you dont live in Italy we have two options : if you would like to relocate our company offers a relocation package to help you move to Milan; if you want to stay where you are we offer a benefit to help you with travel expenses and flexible working hours around your journey time.
