We are looking for an Application Engineer for PCB Design in Milan, Italy .

Reports to: AE Director

Job Description, Role, and Key Responsibilities

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for pre-sale and post-sale activities on our Cadence PCB Solutions, part of the EDA Electronic Design Automation domain. Our tools are used to design printed circuit boards for electronic systems.

You will work closely with top-tier customers supporting technical campaigns for pre-sales by creating and conducting technical presentations, product demonstrations, training, knowledge transfer, and services delivery.

You will recommend technical solutions based on Cadence PCB solutions and identify opportunities or risks linked to those proposals. You will collaborate with the sales team to build strategies for new prospects and propose the best technical solutions.

You will provide technical training or workshops, technical support to our European customers, investigate customer issues, and identify workarounds. You will share customer feedback and suggestions with R&D and participate in team projects.

Position Requirements, Experience, Education

  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Work experience of 1 to 2 years or recent graduates with internships.
  • Knowledge in Schematic Entry and PCB Design is an advantage. Training on Cadence PCB software will be provided.
  • Basic understanding of PCB tools within PCB Design Conception Flows. Training will include analyzing customer environments and evaluating solutions.
  • Experience with electronic software for board design is desirable. Training will cover Allegro X PCB Designer, Allegro System Capture, InspectAR, ECAD MCAD Library Creator, and Sigrity technology for electronics simulation.
  • Experience in PCB design and signal and power integrity at the PCB level is a plus.
  • Knowledge of TCL or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken. English classes can be taken to improve skills.
  • Ability to work in a multinational engineering environment, communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits and training sessions.
  • Excellent team spirit.
