We're Hiring a Junior Accountant
Are you at the beginning of your accounting career and looking for a role where you can learn, grow, and make an impact? Atlantic Gate is looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team in Genoa and support our growing international logistics operation.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic, international environment, working closely with senior finance colleagues and management.
Your Role
As a Junior Accountant, you will support the day‑to‑day accounting and finance activities of our Italian entity. You will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with local requirements—while developing your accounting skills under the guidance of senior colleagues.
What You’ll Do
- Support the recording and reconciliation of daily financial transactions
- Assist with account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Support shipment job costing reviews and basic reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet)
- Support statutory filings (e.g. VAT and other local requirements)
- Assist with month‑end closing activities and reporting to HQ
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Help prepare audit documentation and respond to internal requests
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners (banks, vendors, customers)
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis tasks
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or close to completion)
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or an internship in a similar role
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Interest in learning local GAAP and statutory requirements
- Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office
- Good working knowledge of English
- Proactive, hands‑on mindset and willingness to learn
- Team player with a positive and reliable attitude
