Java Software Engineer (Remote)

I help organizations get the best out of open source products like GeoServer, MapStore, GeoNode and GeoNetwork.

About the job

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our core products international software development team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product leads and designers to develop reliable and well‑tested backend software
• Design and implementation of new GeoServer/GeoTools features
• Perform day‑by‑day bug fixing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience
• Good knowledge of Java Enterprise
• Good Knowledge of Spring Framework
• Good knowledge of relational databases; PostgreSQL is a must, Oracle a plus
• Ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly
• Being fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Experience in designing and implementing scalable systems for highly concurrent loads
• Knowledge of distributed systems and related key technologies is a plus (e.g. Kafka)
• Knowledge of GeoServer and GeoTools is a plus

We offer a variety of contracts but, please, note that our intention is to establish a long‑term relationship. We are a remote first company, however the ideal candidate should work from a time zone between GMT and GMT+2.

Relocation is not requested and as such we are not envisioning any relocation support package.

During the interview process we are going to ask the candidate to solve some simple exercise to demonstrate your skills and capabilities.
