We are looking for a Italy Financial Controller in Milan


Job Summary:

As Italy Financial Controller , you will join our finance team! In this role, you will report to Finance Director and will have the opportunity to sustain the growth of the Italian business, following activities of controlling and accounting, working closely to business to support the growing activity. This position will be a link between controlling and accounting department and will have the possibility to grow in both competencies, with possible career opportunities in both areas. Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:


  • Contribute in the month-end closing activities for the development entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting;
  • Support the preparation of cost-controlling activities and Cash Flow Forecast for development entities and projects;
  • Lead the Funding of the development entities in collaboration with the Business Development team and treasury;
  • Analyze construction and business development costs and provide insights into their financial impact on the organization’s performance;
  • Contribute in the preparation and review of the local statutory financial statements and consolidated financial statement;
  • Contribute in other statutory reports (Unbundling), in coordination with external consultants, when applicable;
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment for all projects in development;
  • Review contracts related to development projects, identifying milestones and planning associated costs and cash flows;
  • Coordinate with vendors and developers to ensure timely payments and milestone alignment;
  • Provide financial guidance to the local construction manager for project budgeting and cost tracking;
  • Maintain a financial tracking system for construction project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and variance analysis and ensuring accurate allocation of costs and tracking against budgets;
  • Collaborate with the construction manager to monitor project progress, assess financial risks, and ensure alignment with approved budgets;
  • Oversee the financial review and approval process for project-related invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and local tax regulations;
  • Support the preparation of cash flow projections specific to construction activities, ensuring sufficient liquidity for project milestones;
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to assess the financial impact of vendor contracts, change orders, and potential cost overruns.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and dashboards for construction projects, providing insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to the accounting team and FP&A related to the impact of the achieved milestones;
  • Collaborate with the Tax Manager to provide data and support for fiscal deadlines and compliance
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis related to the development entities and relevant development milestones ;
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support the FD in M&A initiatives (DD for tax and finance).
  • Act as a key financial advisor to construction teams, operational team, legal team, HR team etc - driving financial efficiency and performance.


Qualifications and Skills:

Your profile is a natural match if you have:

  • Education: Finance-related degree
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in consultancy companies in auditing and finance activities or in house in multinational companies mid-large sized

Skills:

  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Preferable previous experience with SAP and project management/capital expenditure tracking
  • Curious and ambitious person
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, willing to achieve goals with the team
