Project Controller

Our Client is a leading European Real Estate Investment Development and Management company looking for a skilled Construction Controller to ensure efficient cost management across multiple construction projects. This role requires a structured and analytical professional with expertise in budget control, financial analysis and ERP systems capable of optimizing project costs while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Control & Optimization: Monitor and manage all open budgets, identifying cost‑saving opportunities through project revisions and efficiency improvements.
  • Financial Supervision: Ensure an efficient cost structure by closely collaborating with project managers, planners, and the finance department.
  • Work‑in‑Progress Reconciliation: Align construction overviews with WIP and coordinate with accounting to maintain financial accuracy.
  • ERP System Management: Set up and maintain construction processes, including workflows, control mechanisms, and ongoing system optimization.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Create, update, monitor and finalize construction budgets in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company guidelines.
  • CAPEX Management: Review and approve capital CAPEX weekly, ensuring proper evaluations, retentions and adherence to contract terms.
  • Cost & KPI Compliance: Assess building improvements based on costs and revenues, ensuring compliance with KPIs.
  • Risk & Performance Analysis: Conduct cost‑value reconciliation to ensure budget adherence and proactively identify potential risks or discrepancies.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Provide detailed financial analyses of all construction budgets and revenues, delivering insights to management for strategic decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years in construction cost control, project budgeting or financial management, ideally in an international real estate or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of budget and cost control in construction projects, with a structured and analytical approach to financial supervision.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably RELion and/or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ability to tackle challenges proactively, find solutions and work efficiently in a dynamic fast‑paced setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a team‑oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • High level of self‑motivation and a hands‑on mentality ensuring cost efficiency and financial integrity in all project phases.
