IT Systems Engineering Lead
Location: Reading, UK
Pay: £84,200 - £114,000 per annum
Our Client, a leading player in the petrochemical and refining sector, is hiring for a reputed client to support a major project aimed at enhancing the olefins value chain through a world-scale mixed-feed steam cracker and refinery upgrades. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the IT systems engineering aspect of a transformative project in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide expert guidance on IT infrastructure, networks, OT interfaces, cybersecurity, data management, and application integration to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance systems.
- Review and advise on contractor proposals for network architecture, cloud solutions, disaster recovery, and system performance, ensuring alignment with company standards and regional regulations.
- Lead the integration of IT and OT systems, including control systems and industrial networks, maintaining data security and operational integrity.
- Develop and oversee IT standards, ensuring compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and data governance policies.
- Collaborate with JV and corporate IT teams to identify innovative digital solutions that optimise project delivery and operational efficiency.
- Support vendor evaluation, technical bid review, and system performance assessments.
- Manage the design, implementation, and ongoing optimisation of IT systems supporting project and operational environments.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in defining and managing enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, and digital architectures.
- Proven ability to lead IT system design reviews, cybersecurity measures, and integration strategies.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks, control systems, cloud platforms, and data security standards.
- Experience in large-scale projects within refining, chemical processing, or similar industries.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with Middle East or KSA project environments is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of IT standards, cybersecurity, and data governance regulations.
- Experience with vendor evaluation and system performance optimisation.
