About the Role
The IT System Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting the Office’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, networks, servers, applications, and related systems. This role ensures seamless connectivity, system reliability, and user support across multiple platforms while adhering to security and compliance standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors. This position is primarily for Italy Location but person would be required to travel & support other neighboring EU locations like Spain, Netherlands etc.
Areas Of Responsibility
System & Network Administration
- Manage Windows client and server environments.
- Configure LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN connections and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Handle TCP/IP protocols, switches, and firewall functionalities.
Application & User Support
- Install standard software and configure department-specific applications.
- Set up user profiles and test applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SAP, etc.).
- Troubleshoot Microsoft Office Suite, Teams audio/video, and internet navigation issues.
Data & Security Management
- Manage access rights, folder sharing, backup and security policies.
- Handle registry management for issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and optimize resource utilization.
Integration & Automation
- Support data transfer interfaces (EDI, TXT, XLSX, XML) and SFTP platform integration.
- Create scripts for process automation and system optimization.
Peripheral & Vendor Management
- Manage LAN printers, scanners, and office Wi-Fi setup.
- Coordinate with hardware/software vendors, phone contracts, and internet providers.
Business & Customer Focus
- Understand business requirements and system architecture.
- Build strong relationships with internal users, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
- Demonstrate continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies including use of AI/Emerging technologies at workplace for better productivity/efficiency and to support the business growth opportunities.
Travel Estimate
Travel to Other locations may be required to for system setup, troubleshooting and support the end users.

Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Specific Certification (optional)
Relevant certifications (e.G., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, CCNA, ITIL) preferred
Experience
5-10 years as IT System Engineer
Skill (Functional & Behavioural):
Functional:
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS (client/server) and networking protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, SharePoint, and CRM systems.
- Experience with VPN setup, firewall configuration, and LAN/Wi-Fi management.
- Familiarity with data transfer protocols and SFTP integration.
- Ability to create automation scripts and troubleshoot registry issues
