IT Project Manager - Financial Services

GFT Italia is seeking a Project Manager for projects related to financial services .

The ideal candidate will collaborate to improve service effectiveness and efficiency, design new processes and solutions, adopt Best Practices, and lead colleagues toward achieving objectives, with experience managing core projects in banking and/or insurance sectors.

Responsibilities

• Plan time management to ensure delivery within budget, schedule, and quality, by setting and monitoring project plans.
• Control costs, including managing suppliers and all financial aspects of the project.
• Analyze, monitor, and manage project risks.
• Govern project documentation.
• Manage meetings with client management regarding project progress.
• Collaborate internally with Client Managers, supporting pre-sales activities, bid preparations, and client presentations.
• Assess impacts and estimate effort (time and costs) for new projects.
• Coordinate delivery team activities, ensuring functional and technical consistency of proposed and implemented solutions, including analyzing, designing, and implementing complex applications.
• Support in designing and defining technological choices, considering the application context.

Required Skills

• 8-10 years of experience in consulting firms.
• Project experience in roles of PMO / PM within financial contexts.
• Ability to manage large IT projects.
• Experience managing project budgets and planning initiatives according to priorities set with senior management, including reporting and handling change requests.
• Reporting project progress to management and stakeholders.
• Preparation of project documentation and analyses in coordination with other business functions.
• Maintenance of project documentation (Business requirements, kick-off, SAL, Work Plans).
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong familiarity with remote work, virtual team management, and team building outside of physical presence.
• Willingness to travel within Italy.
• Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall or Agile).
• Excellent organizational skills and results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in an international team environment.
• Preferred certifications: PMI, Prince2.
• Degree in Engineering (Informatics, Management) or Economics.
