Position Summary
Based at the IVG Turin plant, the IT Plant Manager oversees all IT-related activities, including projects and application maintenance services for systems such as Manufacturing ERP, Routing systems, Warehouse Management systems, and Shop Floor systems. This role serves as the primary IT professional reference for the plant, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of all IT applications and infrastructure.
To achieve the above, the IT Plant Manager leads a team of 4 IT professionals, supervises the budget, and ensures that all IT initiatives align with the plant's strategic goals.
Profile Summary
Education - Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Experience - 5+ years related experience, preferably in comparable situations
Languages - good written and spoken Italian and English
Activities
- Actively engage with local business stakeholders to anticipate needs and proactively translate emerging demands into actionable IT requirements.
- Initiate collaboration with IT competence centers, not only to validate solutions but also to shape innovative strategies that align with IT guidelines, standard policies, and the broader IT Roadmap—ensuring resourcefulness within available budgets and timelines.
- Lead the coordination of activities with plant end users and key users, energizing User Acceptance Tests (UAT) and championing effective training, all while driving adoption and continuous improvement across the plant environment.
Application Maintenance Service:
- Ensure an adequate level of service for the IT applications and services running in the plant
- Manages the relation with the application providers, keeping track of incidents and defining, executing improvement plans
- Coordinates war rooms across different stakeholders in the event of critical outages, adequately managing escalations
Liaison for Infrastructure/End User IT and Plant Operations:
- Acts as the primary interface between Infrastructure/End User IT functions and the plant, ensuring plant-specific needs are addressed—both for ongoing daily operations and the implementation of new projects
- Coordinates requirements and solutions for all IT assets within the plant environment, including PCs, plant-specific devices, and interfaces with operational machinery such as PLCs
- Oversees network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) and server room activities, ensuring seamless integration and continuous performance
- Ensures proper documentation is maintained for installations and changes, and that new deployments meet both IT standards and the practical needs of plant operations
- Manages end user escalations, conducts regular service reviews, and maintains an up-to-date asset inventory by facilitating clear communication between the plant and IT teams
- Responsible for maintaining Cybersecurity standards across the plant, working in close coordination with the Cybersecurity department to ensure all systems and processes adhere to current security protocols and industry best practices.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with IT processes
- Basic knowledge of IT architecture and standards
- Good knowledge of security standards and procedures
- General knowledge of computer hardware, network infrastructure and Cloud technologies
- Preferred experience in using ITIL frameworks
- Knowledge of key industrial processes (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality) and the systems that support them
- General knowledge of Industry 4.0 topics
