Job Description
The IT Manager leads the technological strategy and operations of H-Farm School, ensuring that systems, networks and digital tools effectively support teaching, learning and administrative excellence. The role acts as a strategic business partner to school and regional leadership, driving innovation, strengthening cybersecurity and ensuring alignment with Nord Anglia Education’s digital vision.
The IT Manager oversees the IT team, manages projects and budgets, coordinates with external suppliers and ensures that all technology services are reliable, secure and future‑ready. By aligning technology initiatives with educational objectives and regional standards, the manager recommends and implements investments that enhance efficiency, innovation and long‑term value while prioritising the needs of all departments.
Key responsibilities include forecasting, planning and managing IT expenditure, identifying opportunities for cost savings and ensuring quality service delivery across schools. The Manager leads IT projects from planning to implementation, ensuring timely, high‑quality outcomes and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support the school’s priorities.
The role manages vendor relationships, oversees contract compliance, monitors performance, and ensures cost‑effective and reliable service delivery. Operationally, the IT Manager is responsible for the performance, security and reliability of all IT systems, networks and infrastructure, responding efficiently to incidents and minimising service disruptions during key school processes such as student onboarding and major events.
Cybersecurity and compliance are fundamental duties, safeguarding systems and data, ensuring adherence to local regulations and Nord Anglia policies, and implementing best practices in data protection. The manager monitors IT performance through KPIs and service reporting, driving continuous improvement across all IT operations.
This role is ideal for a strategic IT leader who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills. Success requires a proactive mindset, analytical thinking, strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Qualifications typically include a diploma or degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in IT management. Experience managing Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Azure AD environments is essential, along with strong knowledge of LAN, WAN infrastructure and current cybersecurity standards. Project‑management experience, vendor management, budget oversight and leading IT teams are important. Preferred certifications include ITIL, PMP and Microsoft or Cisco credentials.
Nord Anglia Education is committed to an environment where people can achieve their full potential. Creativity, challenge, collaboration and continuous development are encouraged at all levels. Safeguarding is central to our culture, and all appointments are subject to child‑protection checks with previous employers and relevant authorities.
