INVESTMENT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Overview

In this role you will design, govern, and continuously improve the Investment Department's operational processes and data management. You will lead the data architecture, data quality controls, and reporting infrastructure to enable reliable investment analysis and decision‑making. You will evolve the operating framework to support new asset classes, mandates, and product initiatives, while managing relationships with service providers and overseeing budgets and invoicing governance. You will work with cross‑functional teams to drive automation and process enhancements and ensure robust governance and controls across the investment lifecycle.

• Set up operational framework for executing investments, onboarding asset classes, mandates, and new Unit Linked products
• Oversee Middle Office activities in internal order management
• Define and monitor data quality KPIs across Allianz Group entities in Italy (Traditional Life, Unit Linked, P&C)
• Manage contractual relationships with Asset Managers and Custodian Banks
• Lead tender processes and monitor external service provider performance
• Oversee KYC/AML processes involving counterparties
• Govern Investment Operations framework including procedures, manuals, corporate handbook, DORA documentation, and Business Impact Analysis mappings
• Define, monitor, and control budgets for Investment Operations
• Review and authorize invoices ensuring contractual compliance and governance

Key Responsibilities

• 7-12 years of professional experience in Investment Operations or related financial services roles
• Master's degree in Engineering or Economics; additional qualifications (MBA, CFA, FRM, PhD) are advantageous
• Programming and IT skills (Python, SQL, VBA, C/C++ or equivalent)
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of data management, reporting, and BI tools (Power BI or equivalent)
• Familiarity with financial market data providers (Bloomberg, LSEG Workspace/Refinitiv, Morningstar)
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data architecture
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to drive automation and process optimization
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management across local and international teams
• Fluency in Italian and English
