We are seeking candidates with 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or top-tier consulting, ideally with exposure to entrepreneur-led or growth-stage companies.
Our client is a Milan-based investment firm targeting transformational growth opportunities in the Italian mid-market. The Associate will support senior leadership in sourcing, executing, and managing direct equity investments across consumer, business services, and industrials.
This role offers full-cycle exposure to deal execution, portfolio value creation, and strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine passion for private markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead execution of direct investments, including valuation modeling, diligence coordination, market analysis, and transaction structuring.
- Prepare investment memos, committee presentations, and co-investment materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct strategic, financial, and operational analysis across prospective targets and portfolio companies.
- Assist with post-investment value creation initiatives, including board reporting, KPI tracking, add-on M&A, and operational scaling.
- Develop a deep understanding of Italy mid-market dynamics and support the sourcing of new opportunities via market mapping and relationship building.
- Work closely with company founders, advisors, and co-investors throughout the investment lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- 2 - 4 years of rigorous training in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or top-tier strategy consulting, with hands-on involvement in complex transaction processes, due diligence, and strategic execution.
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise, including full ownership of operating models, returns analyses, and deal structuring materials across live M&A, growth equity, or co-investment situations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to distill complex information into compelling investment committee materials and engage credibly with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial, agile, and highly self-directed, able to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in lean, fast-paced environments where initiative, accountability, and precision are critical
- Sharp commercial instinct and deep intellectual curiosity, with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for building businesses and unlocking long-term value.
