INTERNSHIP RATING SPECIALIST

CRIF Ratings has been authorized by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) in December 2011 to assign credit ratings to non-financial corporates within the European Union. The agency is a recognized External Credit Assessment Institution (“ECAI”) in accordance with Article 135(2) of the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), having obtained the individual mapping tables by the Joint Committee of European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, ESMA and EIOPA) in November 2014. The agency is a member of EACRA, the European Association of Credit Rating Agencies.

The Rating Department , currently composed of more than 50 analysts based in Italy and Slovenia, covers the European bank and debt capital market, providing credit ratings on non-financial institutions and ancillary services to support financial institutions, investors and corporations in the assessment, primarily, of the creditworthiness of SMEs and large corporates.

ACTIVITY:

• The successful candidate will be part of the Rating Services Business Unit.
• Working within the Rating Department, the successful candidate will support senior analysts in the assessment of the creditworthiness of European non-financial SMEs and Large Corporates requested by banks, investors, other financial institutions or by the companies themselves.
• The assessment is divided into a quantitative part and a qualitative one, combining together the key outcomes arising from the analysis of the financial statements with the key market developments and the general macroeconomic environment. The output of the job is synthetized in a rating dossier, to be submitted to a committee for approval before sharing the outcome outside the agency.
• The daily routine is organized in small analytical teams led by a senior analyst acting as a tutor for the junior analysts in the execution of abovementioned activities.

The position is located in Rende (Calabria).

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on banking and finance topics;
• Knowledge of local and international accounting principles (IAS/IFRS) and ability to extract information form a financial statement report;
• Understanding assessment of financial and business risk of non-financial corporations (e.g. key credit ratios, competitive analysis);
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular an intermediate level in Excel is required. Knowledge of SQL and VBA languages is a plus;
• Team player and result oriented professional, with ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines;
• Fluent written and verbal communications skills in Italian and English.
