I am partnering with an innovative life sciences organisation to appoint a Medical Advisor within Oncology. This is a field-based Medical Affairs role focused on high-quality scientific exchange, clinical education, and evidence generation in a specialist oncology setting.


The role offers the opportunity to act as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, supporting evidence-based clinical practice and contributing to the effective adoption of novel oncology approaches in a highly regulated environment.


Role Overview


The Medical Advisor will serve as a scientific and clinical expert in the field, building peer-level relationships with oncologists and multidisciplinary cancer teams. The role sits within Medical Affairs and operates independently, while working closely with cross-functional colleagues to ensure scientific alignment and compliance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Build and maintain strong, peer-to-peer scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and cancer networks.
  • Engage in non-promotional scientific exchange on disease areas, clinical pathways, and emerging evidence.
  • Support scientific meetings, advisory boards, and investigator discussions.
  • Provide field-based scientific and clinical support within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Contribute to evidence generation activities, including investigator-initiated studies and real-world evidence projects.
  • Liaise with clinical and research centres to support study conduct, ethical compliance, and data quality.
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative research, insights generation, and scientific publication.
  • Provide medical input into study materials, abstracts, and congress content.
  • Deliver scientific education and presentations to clinical teams and hospital stakeholders.
  • Support the development of educational initiatives addressing unmet needs in oncology.
  • Act as a scientific resource during pre- and post-launch phases of new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including commercial, market access, HEOR, regulatory, and clinical functions to ensure medical alignment with strategy.
  • Provide scientific input into reimbursement discussions and health technology assessments where appropriate.
  • Support internal medical and clinical training activities.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable industry codes and regulations.
  • Accurately document field activities, insights, and interactions in internal systems.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards, with patient safety as a core priority.


Candidate Profile


  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSc, or equivalent).
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs within oncology or related therapeutic areas.
  • Strong understanding of oncology care pathways and clinical practice.
  • Experience engaging healthcare professionals and delivering scientific education.
  • Familiarity with clinical research, evidence generation, or real-world data activities preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific data clearly and credibly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role, with willingness to travel extensively.
  • Scientifically driven, patient-focused, collaborative, and adaptable.
  • Committed to continuous learning and medical excellence.
