Job Description
UL Solutions is hiring an Internal Communications Lead, reporting directly to the Director of Internal Communications. This role plays a key part in shaping impactful internal communications—bringing initiatives, campaigns, and programs to life at a local level and driving engagement across approximately 3,000 employees in the region. It is a hybrid role with an expectation of working from the office three days a week.
Responsibilities
Draft and execute an EMEA strategic internal communications employee experience plan. Audit EMEA communications and develop a roadmap for strategic employee engagement aligned to the global internal communications strategy. Support activation of internal communications initiatives in EMEA, including activation of global communications and creation and support for EMEA-specific communications. Work closely with the EMEA Region Lead to cascade strategic priorities and initiatives in support of strengthening the UL Solutions culture in partnership with site leaders and business functions. Support EMEA internal meetings/events, as needed (e.g., CEO travel in the region, ELT travel in the region, global employee events). Create and share EMEA employee-focused content through various communications channels and networks (e.g., ULife, In Focus). Collaborate with local HR business partners to support EMEA activation of HR employee engagement initiatives (e.g., values refresh, employee value proposition, census, global inclusion forum, internal awareness of external awards/recognition). Collaborate with the Business Communications team to support internal communications, as needed (e.g., townhall meetings, talking points, thought leadership articles). Collaborate with the External Communications team to support EMEA media relations/PR, as needed (e.g., press releases, agency oversight, social media content, UL.com content). Promote relevant internal content on social media, focusing on employee advocacy campaigns (e.g., LinkedIn and other regional channels). Localise communications, as needed. Cultivate relationships across the EMEA region, Communications Team, and throughout the company to effectively identify engaging content and stories to feature. Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders through effective communication, feedback management, and strategic collaboration (e.g., business functions, strategic functions, site leaders).
Qualifications
Fluent in oral and written English (German language skills preferred). Exceptional writing and editing skills (AP style). Proven success in creating and executing employee content campaigns, backed by metrics. Experience engaging with senior leaders. Ability to thrive in a matrix environment and manage teams. At least 5 years of corporate communication experience, ideally in a global or regional role. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Total Rewards Salary ranges for this role will vary by country based on local market conditions. For example, the range for this position in Italy is €48‑65k. The position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 20% of base salary.
