Purpose of the position
As Instrumentation Analyzer Engineer you will report to the Head of Department and be part of the Energy Carriers Business Line within the Smart Department.
Responsibilities
- Interpret process data and understand requirements stated in relevant notes and P&IDs.
- Select the correct measuring principles of analyzers based on the properties or components to be analyzed and their measuring ranges. Deep knowledge of measurement principles, their advantages/disadvantages and the economic value of each solution is required.
- Choose installation criteria for analyzers considering the types of fluid handled, required measurements, analyzer characteristics, environmental conditions and contractual requirements.
- Independently perform specialized instrumentation engineering activities with a focus on analyzers (especially gas‑chromatographs, CEMS, and chemical‑physical property measurements) and analysis cabins.
- Prepare technical documentation for tender requests for material and services for analyzers (ability to use systems such as SPI or similar).
- Fill in technical offer tabulation based on analysis system suppliers.
- Verify the solutions implemented by suppliers with regard to:     - Intake points (selection of the correct type of probes)
- Type of transport line (materials, lengths, slopes)
- Type of sample treatment systems (filtering, cooling, heating, etc.)
- Possibility of recovery and/or discharge into the planned auxiliary systems (torch, drains, etc.)
 
- Verify the solutions chosen and implemented by the supplier of the analysis package in all their aspects (functional, instrumental, mechanical, civil, electrical, safety). A multidisciplinary knowledge of the various issues is required.
- Interface independently with other engineering disciplines and suppliers to identify technically/economically optimised solutions.
- Follow up the supply, verifying and ensuring the correct preparation within the agreed timeframe of all documentation required by contract and necessary for the correct verification/testing, installation and commissioning of what has been supplied.
- Support the Purchasing Department, post‑order and Inspectors through the various phases of the order.
Qualifications
- Educational background in electronics, chemistry or electro‑instrumentation/automation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the study of instrumentation systems for continuous industrial processes, familiar with analysis systems, measurement principles and analysis technologies, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Fluency in English at least B2 level.
- Willingness to travel abroad and avail medium‑to‑long term international mobility.
