Inspector Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The role involves managing the inspector and expediter team based in Cinisello Balsamo, planning their activities accordingly to the fixed deadlines. In addition to the managerial part, the resource will be directly involved for an estimated 40% of the time in execution, which means to carry out the project specific inspections and release the materials as detailed in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and as directed and instructed by the home office.

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage team issues and support them with their day-to-day activities
• Plan travel and allocate resources to the projects
• Witness shop inspection and testing of material and equipment as detailed in the ITP.
• Attend pre-inspection meetings / progress review meetings at supplier's workshop.
• Prepare and issue the Inspection Reports after each inspection visit.
• Check the compliance of materials and equipment with purchase order requirements.
• Ensure that all works undertaken are completed in accordance with the project specifications.
• Liaise with the requisitioning Engineer and Inspection & Expediting Manager as appropriate.
• Provide feedback on supplier / sub-supplier performance upon request.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Frequency approximately 40%.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and LANGUAGES

Education and Qualifications

• University Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Subjects
• Degrees in technical subjects (e.g. Engineering) considered a plus.

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience as inspector at other companies.
• Having worked for companies belonging to the industrial manufacturing sector (Oil and Gas, Refinery, Ammonia, etc.) is mandatory.
• Having worked for EPC (Engineering - Procurement - Construction) companies is considered a plus.

Languages

• English, at least C1 both written and spoken.
