Job Profile: System Engineer

Job Location: Tuscany (and other locations), Italy

Responsabilities:

• The engineer will be part of the engineering project team defining the requirements of the sub-systems according to the related standards, norms and laws and he/she will be responsible of the sub-systems integration on the train.
• He/She will oversee the functional test during the validation and certification phases.
• The engineer will be responsible of the on-board assigned sub-systems, interfacing with suppliers, customers and project teams.
• He/She will take part to the design review in order to set the sub-systems configuration and requirements.
• The person selected, in cooperation with the requirement manager, will be responsible of the project requirements management related to the assigned sub-systems.
• The engineer will be involved in the scheduling activities related to the sub-systems, with the support of the project engineer.

Skills required:

• BSc/MSc Degree in Engineering;
  
• Ability to handle the requirement allocations to the sub-systems to the project internal stakeholders;
  
• Ability to write functional technical specifications and test specifications;
  
• Ability to define the sub-systems architecture, functionalities and operational modes starting from input documentation;
  
• Ability to support RAMS engineer to perform the sub-systems FMECA;
  
• Knowledge of the standards and law relating to railway industry;
  
• Good knowledge of the electric, electronic and mechanical design;
  
• Knowledge of Engineering Processes;
  
• Ability to review engineering deliverables with suppliers and act appropriate corrective actions;
  
• Ability to respect the engineering plan and assigned deadlines;
  
• Ability to interact daily with the internal and external stakeholders in order to understand their needs and requirements;
  
• Ability to cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager, other project stakeholders and all levels of the organisation;
  
• Availability totravel for short-term national and/or international business trips;
  
• Fluency in Italian;
  
• Intermediate level of English;
  
• Experience in the role and in the railway industry will be considered a plus.
