Ingegnere/a – Protonterapia Hitachi / Engineer – Hitachi Proton Therapy
The National Centre for Oncological Hadrontherapy (Fondazione CNAO), based in Pavia, is looking for an Engineer – Hitachi Proton Therapy to join the Technical Department / High Technology Unit.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, etc.)
3+ years of relevant experience
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Proven ability to read and accurately interpret engineering documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, piping diagrams, etc.)
Ability to perform manual-handling and basic physical tasks (e.g., climbing, moderate lifting)
Flexibility in work hours, shift patterns, on-call duties, and local availability
Preferred requirements
Experience in personnel supervision
Maintenance and operations experience
Experience in a radiation facility
Experience in quality assurance and/or regulated environments
Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments (DVM, oscilloscope, micrometers, etc.)
Familiarity with environments involving high voltage, radiation, and electromagnetic fields
Key responsibilities
Manage on-site service activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and system availability
Perform start-up and shutdown operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, and equipment testing (including calibration and software testing)
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate recovery actions following off-normal events
Plan and oversee activities, including scheduling, prioritization, and spare parts coordination
Interface with stakeholders, including system manufacturers, suppliers, and internal CNAO departments
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including radiation safety and internal policies
Soft skills
Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
Advanced technical analysis and problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and guide team members
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Remuneration and contract details
Annual salary range €30,000 - €40,000, to be determined based on the candidate's CV and experience
CCNL for Private Healthcare – Non-Medical Staff
Free canteen or, alternatively, daily meal vouchers €5.29
Annual welfare plan starting from €450
Annual attendance bonus up to a maximum of €570
