Job Description – IT Project Manager (Senior)

Location: Milan (Hybrid: 2–3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 12 months (Start: December or January)

Industry: Global Technology Company

Daily Rate: €200

Technical Focus: VMware, Azure


Role Overview

We are searching for a Senior IT Infrastructure Project Manager to support a global technology client in delivering complex infrastructure initiatives. The professional will oversee end-to-end project execution, working across international teams and ensuring alignment between technical stakeholders and business functions. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a solid technical understanding of infrastructure environments (on-premise and cloud), adopting a proactive, structured, and results-oriented approach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex IT infrastructure projects, including network, cloud, systems, security, and data centre initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical teams (internal and external), suppliers, and global stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication between infrastructure, application, and business teams, effectively translating requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Track and control project scope, timelines, risks, budgets, and KPIs, preparing regular project status reports and updates.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate IT governance frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by promoting best practices, project methodologies, and lessons learned across teams.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Project Manager or PMO within complex enterprise environments.
  • Solid understanding of IT architectures, including networks, systems, cloud technologies (Azure), security, and virtualization (VMware).
  • Previous experience working in international and multicultural contexts.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mediation skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and a high degree of ownership.
  • Competence with Waterfall project management methodologies (Agile knowledge is a plus).
  • Proficiency with project planning and monitoring tools.
  • Fluent English (B2 level or above).
