About the Role
Job Purpose
To support activities assigned with the scope of Rome Plant continuous improvement applied in the Technical Service area, focusing on tire building, tire quality and uniformity. The person should be able to develop and carry out autonomously his activities with supervision from coordinator.
Manage new products, tire spec evaluation to prevent defects and quality issues with focus on industrialization phase.
Final objective is to improve product quality, reduce waste and optimize machine setup of the Rome plant/advanced workshop through systematic application of data-based methodologies/process improvement evaluations and setup standardization, ensuring compliance with BS standards and achieving superior quality throughout the value chain.
Main Responsibilities:
- Roadmap implementation
- Support Rome Plant/Advanced Workshop processes applied in manufacturing.
- Support injection of technical service capabilities.
- Machine setup optimization
- Tire building machine follow‑up
- Tire uniformity improvement
- Follow‑up of operators training on TS perspective.
- Daily activities regarding TS activities
- Technical Service support to new process
- Join cross‑functional teams for tire spec features at early product design phase.
- Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and methods that achieve ambitious targets.
- Develop and implement inspection tools/methods to evaluate tire quality.
- Problem solving based on data analysis/product verification; provide guidance to determine root cause and recommend solutions.
- Interface with internal and external groups to ensure proper definition of expectations and appropriate assurance techniques.
- Coach and ensure Technical Service mindset & awareness is built in the team.
- Risk reduction, Continuous Improvement
- Perform root cause analysis of TS issues using advanced problem‑solving tools.
- Recommend and implement simple cost‑effective permanent corrective actions. Promote horizontal extension.
- Reinforce TS systems to identify and reduce risks of tire defects and assure compliance to all requirements.
- Timely issuing and/or updating relevant operative procedure.
- Periodical reporting on activity status to management.
Education and Capabilities
Education:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent technology degree.
Job Experience
Desirable tech service in tire industry or equivalent position in manufacturing industry.
Capabilities:
- Project Management
- Problem solving
- Quality tools for problem solving (5Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.)
- Knowledge of tire technology / tire manufacturing process
One or more of below competences/skills will be a plus:
- 6 SIGMA
- Tire advanced technical knowledge (Tire Features, Performances, and Mechanics)
- Data analysis
- ISO/TS 16949-IATF-VDA 6.3 core tools (FMEA, PPAC, SPC, APQP, MSA)
Soft Skills

Travel
Requires availability to travel (in Europe or worldwide) at Bridgestone facilities/suppliers.
Work Experience
Previous working experience in tire industry considered a plus.
Languages
Spanish, Polish, Hungarian considered a plus.
