We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified HSE Manager & RSPP to join our FAMAR team in Baranzate, Italy and strengthen our culture of safety, compliance, and responsibility.
The HSE Manager & RSPP will report directly to the BU Head and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental activities, ensuring full compliance with local legislation and FAMAR Group requirements regarding workplace safety. This leadership role will drive continuous improvement in workplace safety, environmental management, and risk prevention.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as RSPP (Prevention and Protection Service Manager) in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree 81/08, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Develop, implement and monitor EHS management systems in line with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and GMP standards applicable to the pharmaceutical sector.
- Coordinate risk assessment activities, including exposure to hazardous substances, chemical and biological agents, and ATEX risk.
- Draft and update mandatory documentation (DVR, DUVRI, PEE, etc.) and supervise the correct management of safety equipment.
- Manage mandatory and specialist training in the EHS field, including training on chemical risks, handling of hazardous substances and waste management.
- Ensure the environmental compliance of the production site: management of emissions, discharges, special waste, AUA/AIA authorisations, REACH registrations and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Oversee emergency management, including periodic evacuation drills and major accident response plans.
- Coordinate internal audits and support inspections by regulatory bodies (ASL, ARPA, ISPRA, NAS, AIFA, EMA, etc.).
- Collaborate with QA, Production, Maintenance and other departments to ensure the integration of EHS policies into daily activities.
- Monitor safety, environment and health KPIs, analyse events (near misses, accidents, injuries) and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage the full cycle process of pre-employment and periodic medical examinations
PROFILE / SKILLS:
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Safety Engineering, CTF, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines.
- RSPP qualification (Modules A, B-SP3 Chemical, C) – Mandatory.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in chemical-pharmaceutical contexts, with preference for GMP environments.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations (Legislative Decree 81/08, Legislative Decree 152/06), environmental regulations.
- Experience in the management of hazardous substances, passive and active safety systems.
- Expertise in hazardous waste management and environmental authorisations.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / GMP management systems.
- Excellent knowledge of the Office suite
- Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken
