Housekeeper job (M/F) in Florence, Italy

Our client, a lovely international family recently settled in Florence, Italy , is seeking a reliable, experienced, and long‑term Housekeeper to maintain their beautiful home to the highest standard.

This is a permanent, full‑time position with flexibility to travel internationally for extended periods (France and London).

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and upkeep of the residence (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, kitchens, etc.).
• Laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, and linen care.
• Making beds, changing sheets, and maintaining household order.
• Household errands.
• Care and cleaning of delicate materials, furniture, and surfaces.
• Assisting with meal preparation or service when needed.
• Occasional help watching the children for short periods (there is a full‑time nanny).
• Pet‑friendly attitude and willingness to help if a dog joins the family in the future.
• Travelling with the family for several months per year to other residences.
• Driving required.
• Cooking is a strong plus.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience working in private households with excellent references.
• Proven record of long‑term employment with families (no short contracts).
• High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a well‑presented home.
• Discreet, trustworthy, and able to work as part of a household team.
• Driving licence required.
• Team player must collaborate well with other staff.
• Experience with and around children required, happy to occasionally help watching them for short periods (there is a full‑time nanny and mother always present).
• Cooking skills will be a strong plus.
• Ability to work well in both formal and informal households.

Work conditions

• Schedule: 5 – 5.5 days per week (to be discussed)
• Accommodation: Private bedroom and bathroom available within the home
• Start Date : As soon as possible
• Contract: Full‑time, long‑term
