Villa Igiea reopened in May 2021, fully refurbished after almost two years of renovation. It combines contemporary design with its Liberty soul.

The hotel has 100 rooms and suites, overlooking the gardens and the Gulf of Palermo. A renowned Chef leads the kitchen, and the hotel offers a Wellness Centre, a fully equipped fitness room, and a sea-front swimming pool for guests.

  • Main Purpose

Main Purpose

The Hotel Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the hotel and its staff, assisting and substituting the General Manager. The role requires a passion for hospitality and a drive to grow professionally, with a focus on exceeding internal and external guests’ expectations.

Reports to: General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Set and achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Recruit, coach and monitor staff and line management.
  • Meet and greet customers.
  • Deal with customer complaints and comments.
  • Address problems and troubleshoot accordingly.
  • Supervise maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings.
  • Deal with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure security is effective.
  • Carry out inspections of property and services with consistency.
  • Promote and market the business within and outside the Company.
  • Manage budgets and financial plans and control expenditure.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience as Operations Manager, Division Manager or Hotel Manager in 5 Star Deluxe Hotels, preferably in Europe.
  • Preferable degree in hotel management.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Experience in running multiple F&B outlets – front of house, spa and maintenance.
  • Evidence of self-development through courses, conferences, workshops.
  • Knowledge of H&S provisions as per national rules.
  • Good commercial background, preferably in the Italian market and in Tour Operators, MICE and Corporate segments.
  • Knowledge of Revenue Management.
  • Excellent financial understanding: analytical thinking, budgeting and forecasting; balancing expenses and costs vs forecast.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian; knowledge of a third European language (French preferred).
