General Manager – New opening, Luxury hotel – Italy

Location: Milan, Italy

Salary: Around €150,000 - €180,000 gross per annum + bonus

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary General Manager to lead the relaunch and future operations of a NEW luxury hotel in Milan . Part of a prestigious European hotel group with four properties across the continent, this property is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and will reopen as a flagship destination, offering a modern and sophisticated luxury experience . The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in luxury hospitality , a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, and the ability to drive both operational excellence and brand repositioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and overall management of hotel operations, ensuring the highest standards of luxury guest experience and service excellence.
  • Take full accountability for the property’s performance, including ownership of P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial optimization.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth, market share expansion, and long-term profitability.
  • Oversee operational efficiency across all departments, balancing exceptional service delivery with cost discipline and financial performance.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop senior management and departmental teams, fostering a high-performance and guest-centric culture.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with owners, partners, key clients, and stakeholders in both local and international markets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, quality standards, and organizational or brand governance requirements.

Requirements for the General Manager

  • Proven experience as General Manager or senior executive in luxury hospitality properties.
  • Strong background in managing pre‑opening, renovation, or repositioning projects is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to balance service excellence and financial performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • International hospitality experience is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required; Italian is highly desirable.
